Melanie Moore has been an Iowa homebirth midwife for 14 years and a Certified Professional Midwife for 6 years. She is the mother of 6 children.
In April she was charged with practicing medicine without a liscence, a felony. She faces up to 5 years in prison and/or $7,500.00 in fines.
By making a donation here, you are directly supporting Melanie's legal defense. Any funds above and beyond that amount will be donated to the Iowa Midwives Association.
You could also write letters to your local newspapers and officials supporting a woman's right to choose the location and attendants at her birth.
